A Note From Madison Cooke
Madison Cooke holds a M.A.Ed. and LCMHC-A credentials with NCC certification. She earned her psychology degree from East Carolina University in 2018, later completing her clinical mental health counseling master’s and play therapy certificate at UNC Pembroke in December 2023.
As a North Carolina native, Madison previously worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician with autistic children using ABA therapy. She integrates “Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and mindfulness approaches” along with play therapy in her clinical work. Her experience spans anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life stressors affecting children and adults.
Madison emphasizes creating a safe, individualized therapeutic space. She believes counseling should be “adjusted to best meet your set of needs” and uses a strengths-based approach combined with play therapy, noting that “Toys are children’s words and play is their language.”
